The Good is ready. The stance is correct, the arm is extended, the eyes are focused on something in the middle distance that is almost certainly about to have a very bad morning. The Bad is committed — poncho, snarl, both hands on the weapon, the whole Leone vocabulary deployed with genuine menace. The Drunk has a bottle. The Drunk is not aimed at anything. The Drunk is not, strictly speaking, aimed. The Drunk has located the general direction of gravity and is doing his best with the information available. Only one could aim straight. The other two know which one it is. The burro at the edge of frame has made its own assessment and is staying where it is. The Good, the Bad & the Drunk T-shirt is a love letter to the spaghetti western — written in the language of the genre it loves and delivered with the timing of the best western comedy.

Spaghetti Western Parody, Comedy Exploitation & Leone-Era Pastiche Aesthetic

This design operates in the tradition of the spaghetti western comedy — the subgenre that ran parallel to the Leone-Corbucci-Sollima axis of serious gun-opera and produced some of the most commercially successful Italian westerns of the late 60s and 70s, culminating in the Trinity films that understood the genre’s visual grammar well enough to deconstruct it with genuine affection. The three-panel horizontal composition directly references the close-up tripartite structure of the Leone standoff — the Good in blue, the Bad in amber, the Drunk in green-grey, each panel establishing a character archetype that the third immediately, comprehensively undermines. The bottle, the scattered empties, the burro — these are the details that make the joke land, because every detail is precisely correct and the Drunk is precisely incorrect within it. The tagline «Only One Could Aim Straight» doesn’t specify which one. It doesn’t need to.

If You Love These Films, You’ll Love This Design:

  • The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966, Leone) — the film that this design is in direct, affectionate conversation with
  • Trinity Is Still My Name (1971, Barboni) — the spaghetti western comedy that dominated the Italian box office
  • They Call Me Trinity (1970, Barboni) — the drunk/incompetent western hero as genre archetype
  • Support Your Local Sheriff! (1969) — American western parody with genuine genre knowledge
  • Blazing Saddles (1974, Mel Brooks) — the western parody film that understood the genre well enough to dismantle it
  • A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014, Seth MacFarlane) — the modern western comedy that worked from genuine affection for the genre
  • The Three Amigos (1986) — the western comedy that understood the Mexican standoff as pure comedy potential

Original Cult 77 Identity

Cult 77 creates original artwork for those who know the genre well enough to laugh at it — not because the genre is bad, but because loving something well enough to parody it is the highest form of criticism. This design is for the Leone devotees who also watched the Trinity films and understood that the comedy was always present in the serious films too, just below the surface of the standoffs. The Drunk is not a failure of the genre. The Drunk is what the genre looks like from a slight angle, with better comedic timing. Only one could aim straight. The Drunk would dispute this, but can’t currently locate the right direction. This isn’t just a shirt; it’s the third panel of a triptych that Leone spent the whole Dollar trilogy setting up.

Perfect For:

  • Fans of spaghetti western parody, comedy exploitation cinema, and Leone-era pastiche aesthetics
  • Collectors of Italian western poster art, comedy film imagery, and western genre deconstruction ephemera
  • Alternative streetwear lovers drawn to tricolor western palettes, standoff iconography, and drunk cowboy design
  • Spaghetti western devotees, cult film collectors, and comedy cinema enthusiasts

Premium Quality, Ethical Production

  • 100% pre-shrunk organic cotton (approx. 180-190 g/m²) — structurally sound; the Drunk is not
  • Direct-to-garment (DTG) printing for maximum panel color contrast and western illustration detail
  • Water-based inks with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification
  • Tubular construction (no side seams) for a classic, clean silhouette
  • Produced locally in Spain with ethical practices

Sizing & Fit

  • Unisex sizing: S, M, L, XL, XXL
  • Classic comfortable fit, true to size with a slightly structured style

Styling:

  • Western Comedy: With dark jeans, leather boots, and the general composure of someone who is not the Drunk — genre cinema devotee
  • Casual Classic: With straight-leg jeans and clean trainers — spaghetti western as daily reference
  • Night Out: The centerpiece for a Leone retrospective, a western comedy double feature, or any event that ends with a discussion of which character everyone relates to most (everyone is the Drunk)
